Welcome to the first installment of The Bridal Shower's blog. We'll be sure to keep up to date with our doings and goings on. Let us begin by quoting our first (and only) myspace blog (r.i.p. myspace blog):
"Hello there, [Mushmouth] of The Bridal Shower. We would just like to update everybody on our current efforts.
About a month ago, [Kid Supreme] and I decided we wanted to start a band. We thought, "Why not try to just make music as a two piece?", and thus began the saga known as The Bridal Shower. The project was named rather quickly, and we played our first show a week after deciding we were a band. Songs came quickly, and while talking to one of our friends, Jeff, he mentioned he could record us for free in an actual studio. Of course, we jumped at the offer, and wrote between 10-15 songs before leaving last Friday for Philadelphia. We ended up recording 17 tracks, and are going to release a) a free demo with a few of our favorite songs, and b) an album called 'Libation Bearers', which should be ready in the coming weeks.
On the way home from Philadelphia, we talked about how interesting an acoustic version of one of our songs would be. This lead to us recording our 5 song 'Acoustic EP' a few days ago, which we will be releasing soon, as well.
We look forward to what the coming months bring us, and hope to hear from our listeners!"
This was dated Saturday, July 5th, 2008, which means it has been 10 days (or a little more than one week) since we posted that.
