Alright so, Mushmouth recently insisted that I watch the new Architecture in Helsinki music video. The song is entitled "The Beep." Now let me first state that I really liked their first two albums (i.e. Fingers Crossed, In Case We Die), but did not care for their most recent album. Although their most recent album Places Like This was not very good, I can respect that they were trying to push their music in a different direction, however, I cannot justify the sin that is "The Beep." Somehow the members of Architecture in Helsinki deemed it both appropriate and necessary to start making throw away 1980's pop music. Unreal and frankly uncalled for. If after reading this you still feel you need to actually watch the video you'll understand what I mean and furthermore, the video itself only solidifies my claim. Hell even the name should have tipped me off. I'm just disappointed that's all. This just suggests to me that bands now either have no artistic integrity or (perhaps worse) not artistic vision, when you're reduced to making 80's mall pop.
I apologize to anyone who many have thought it was harsh, but as I stated I could not allow this to go unsaid.
Until next time comrades,
